Okay, it's
probably going to be a long time before almost anyone sees this page (maybe
forever if
I'm not lucky).
So I suppose I can take some liberties. I used to know a scrap of
html, but now I
have to use
Netscape Composer just to write text. I suppose with text the "personal
touch" doesn't
matter anyway.
But I won't learn it yet, this is 4:45 a.m. on a (high) school day.
Yup, I've stayed
up all night.
There really was no reason for it. I was sick today, stayed home,
could have done my
homework but
didn't. I have a problem--something like obsessive-compulsive disorder.
I always
want to do
good things, like discovering the mysteries of the universe or writing
a screenplay, at the
wrong times,
which are always when I should be doing something school-related.
It's really
depressing,
almost like I can get fired up about something only when I shouldn't
be doing it. And
what you're
reading right now, if I'm lucky, is of course something that I'm not supposed
to be doing.
Instead I
should be writing an essay for class, actually two essays. But I
got fired up earlier tonight,
and wrote
this following passage (which should be applied to the suffering of humans,
the animals,
and the environment):
If everyone
could lay down their jobs, their importance, their prejudice, and look
upon all the horror
of the world,
and see it with their own eyes, touch it, feel it, smell it, taste it,
and be revulsed, and
draw back,
and then be compelled by compassion to step forward, reach out, collect
the pieces,
assemble,
build, strengthen, then step back, and gaze across the peace, and be filled
with hope and
meaning, and
return to life not as it was but as it can be, must be, will be, if there
is to be any beauty
to this world.
Kind of poetic,
huh? When I got to the end I realized it wasn't a complete sentence,
but I let it
dangle--kind
of like it's just expressing the potential for something to be done, "If...",
but it doesn't
know what
would happen afterward because it's never been done. I hope it will
be done soon.
Hmm...I wrote
this over an hour and a half ago, that was before I started looking for
a web page
to vent my
ideas. The language is a little pretentious, but, well, I've been
exposed to good
literature,
what can I say. I usually can recognize the style of something I've
been reading in what
I write.
Well, that's
it. Oh, yeah, the reason this is yellow on black is because I heard
or read somewhere
that yellow
on black stands out the most. Actually, this is more like "goldenrod",
which is even
better, I
think. Just a tip. Have a good day.
All right,
here's a counter. It's a good thing you can't tell how many times
the author has visited the
page.....<g>
